Music is Therapy

Last week, myself and @theluxalma were overcome with festive feelings and wrote this song at @hibernacle20 . Hold on to your Sleigh Bells! ‘Tis the season.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=coElc5EMGZI (Ps. I meant to say ‘Sleigh Ride Convoy’ but somehow “Sleigh Bell Cowboy’ came out. Freudian slip?!)

A Christmas Carol from our favourite duo.
Sallay Garnett and Lisa Hannigan have the best musical chemistry I have experienced. Their energy is contagious especially in their rendition of Undertow as part of the Courage project. Rarely you see someone enjoy singing together this much.

I know my love by his way of walking And I know my love by his way of talking And I know my love dressed in a suit of blue And if my love leaves me what will I do... And still she cried, "I love him the best And a troubled mind sure can know no rest" And still she cried, "Bonny boys are few And if my love leaves me what will I do" There is a dance house in Maradyke And there my true love goes every night He takes a strange girl upon his knee Well now don't you think that that vexes me? And still she cried, "I love him the best And a troubled mind sure can know no rest" And still she cried, "Bonny boys are few And if my love leaves me what will I do" If my love knew I can wash and wring If my love knew I can sew and spin I'd make a coat of the finest kind But the want of money sure leaves me behind And still she cried, "I love him the best And a troubled mind sure can know no rest" And still she cried, "Bonny boys are few And if my love leaves me what will I do" I know my love is an arrant rover I know he'll wander the wild world over In dear old Ireland he'll no longer tarry An American girl he's sure to marry And still she cried, "I love him the best And a troubled mind sure can know no rest" And still she cried, "Bonny boys are few And if my love leaves me what will I do" And still she cried, "I love him the best And a troubled mind sure can know no rest" And still she cried, "Bonny boys are few And if my love leaves me what will I do" What will I do...

Lyrics
When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary
When troubles come and my heart burdened be
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence
Until You come and sit awhile with me.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be.
You raise me up to more than I can be.

Lyrics
Looking back through changes
Where we started from
Don’t know about you but
I knew it wasn’t wrong
You know I kept a place
For you in my mind
And I know you did the same
‘Cause you’re just that kind
So if we knew all along
Why did it take so long?
We’ve known since we were young
So why did it take so long?
You know you make me feel loved
Make me feel like I’m home
So if we knew all along
Why did it take so long?
Moving on
You and I started looking back
Now we’ve got to make up
For all the wasted time
You know I’d never let you just walk on by
From the day that I met you
I knew you’d be mine, yeah
So if we knew all along
Why did it take so long?
We’ve known since we were young
Why did it take so long?
You know you make me feel loved
Make me feel like I’m home
So if we knew all along
Why did it take so long?
Just started, it’s just started
I’m having trouble believing it’s true
Just started, just started
Now we got nothing to prove
So if we knew all along
Why did it take so long?
We’ve known it since we were young
So why did it take so long?
You know you make me feel loved
Make me feel like I’m home
So if we knew all along
Why did it take so long?
Why did it take so long?
Why did it take so long?
Why did it take so long?
Why did it take so long?

Song by Buffy Sainte-Marie
The rain is falling lightly on the buildings and the cars
I’ve said goodbye to city friends, department stores and bars
The lights of town are at my back, my heart is full of stars
And I’m gonna be a country girl again
Oh yes, I’m gonna be a country girl again
With an old brown dog and a big front porch and rabbits in the pen
I tell you, all the lights on Broadway don’t amount to an acre green
And I’m gonna be a country girl again
I spent some time in study, oh, I’ve taken my degrees
And memorized my formula, my A’s and B’s and C’s
But what I know came long ago and not from such as these
And I’m gonna be a country girl again
Oh yes, I’m gonna be a country girl again
With an old brown dog and a big front porch and rabbits in the pen
I tell you, all the lights on Broadway don’t amount to an acre green
And I’m gonna be a country girl again
I’ve wandered in the hearts of men looking for the sign
But here I might learn happiness, I might learn peace of mind
The one who taught my lesson was the soft wind through the pines
I’m gonna be a country girl again
Oh yes, I’m gonna be a country girl again
With an old brown dog and a big front porch and rabbits in the pen
I tell you, all the lights on Broadway don’t amount to an acre green
And I’m gonna be a country girl again
Oh yes, I’m gonna be a country girl again
With an old brown dog and a big front porch and rabbits in the pen
I tell you, all the lights on Broadway don’t amount to an acre green
And I’m gonna be a country girl again
