Ashley McBryde cut her teeth playing country songs in rural biker bars – and it shows. Her 2018 major label debut Girl Going Nowhere (Warner Music Nashville) charmed the New York Times, NPR, Rolling Stone, Paste, The Washington Post, and more, all en route to landing a GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album. McBryde closed out 2019 with ACM New Female Artist, CMT Breakout Artist of the Year, a New Artist of the Year win at the 53rd Annual CMA Awards and two nominations for the 2020 GRAMMYs for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance for “Girl Goin’ Nowhere.” Her follow-up Never Will, released April 3, was tagged by Rolling Stone as one of the most anticipated of the year alongside NPR, who also ranked her Top 10 RIAA Platinum-Certified single “One Night Standards” as one of the best songs of 2019. Produced once again by Jay Joyce, Never Will reveals the witty, confessional, detail-driven songwriting addressing a wide spectrum of blue-collar Southern women’s experience introduced on Girl Going Nowhere is still here, but perhaps even sharper, earning McBryde a 2021 GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album, making Never Will the only album nominated for Country Album of the Year by the ACMs, CMAs and the Recording Academy in the same award season. The music itself is stadium-ready rock-and-roll with a bluegrass wink or two and country music’s storytelling heart––and McBryde, no longer new, is the music’s ordained and highly capable standard bearer. Her duet with Carly Pearce, “Never Wanted To Be That Girl,” continues to climb the charts at Country radio in the Top 20. McBryde’s This Town Talks Tour is currently underway with stops across the U.S. before wrapping in April 2022. © 2023 Warner Music Nashville LLC

Trisha Yearwood – Melancholy Blue

2,889 views Aug 8, 2019Provided to YouTube by Universal Music Group Melancholy Blue · Trisha Yearwood Inside Out ℗ An MCA Nashville Release; ℗ 2001 UMG Recordings, Inc. Released on: 2001-06-05 Producer: Trisha Yearwood Producer: Mark Wright Composer Lyricist: Harlan Howard Composer Lyricist: Tom Douglas

Ever since I lost you baby I’ve been here and there
Looking for some piece of mind, I can’t find it anywhere
I went down to Tunica, played me a little blackjack
Saw a wino on the corner, gave my winnings back

If it was just money
Baby, I could make it
But living without you
Can I take it
All I see ahead of me is
Is just melancholy blue
‘Cause I ain’t got no future without you

I went down to Austin, lots of beautiful people there
Could have had a better adventure, I just didn’t care
Got a job in California, they sure liked my style
But there’s something about that California sun
Reminds me of your smile

If it was just money
Baby, I could make it
But living without you
Can I take it
All I see ahead of me is
Is just melancholy blue
‘Cause I ain’t got no future without you

Now and then I go back to Biloxi
Whenever I feel brave
Visit that little country church down there
Lay some flowers on your grave
You sure got a hold on me
I don’t know what to do

I ain’t got no future
I can’t see my future without you

Undertow

Lisa Hannigan, The Colorist Orchestra

I want to swim in your current
Carry me out, up and away
I want to float
On every word you say

I want to be underneath your weather
Every cloud and ray of sun
I want to float
In between every one

I want to sink down like a stone
You never lost me you never broke
I want to be adrift on your radio
Oh take me under take me home

I want to be, all of a sudden
Every wave and undertow
I want to float
Everywhere I go

Lyrics

I don’t want to hear a love song
I got on this airplane just to fly
And I know there’s life below me
But all that you can show me is the prairie and the sky

And I don’t want to hear a sad story
Full of heartbreak and desire
The last time I felt like this
I was in the wilderness and the canyon was on fire

And I stood on the mountain
In the night and I watched it burn
I watched it burn, I watched it burn

I would rock my soul in the bosom of Abraham
I would hold my life in his saving grace
I would walk all the way from Boulder to Birmingham
If I thought I could see, I could see your face

Well, you really got me this time
And the hardest part is knowing I’ll survive
And I come to listen for the sound
Of the trucks as they move down out on 95

And pretend that it’s the ocean
Coming down to wash me clean, to wash me clean
Baby, do you know what I mean?

I would rock my soul in the bosom of Abraham
I would hold my life in his saving grace
I would walk all the way from Boulder to Birmingham
If I thought I could see, I could see your face
If I thought I could see, I could see your face

Thank you

Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton – Sometimes When We Touch

Lyrics

You ask me if I love you
And I choke on my reply
I’d rather hurt you, honestly
Than mislead you with a lie
And who am I to judge you
On what you say or do?
I’m only just beginning
To see the real you
And sometimes when we touch
The honesty’s too much
And I have to close my eyes and hide
I wanna hold you ’til I die
‘Til we both break down and cry
I wanna hold you
‘Til the fear in me subsides
Romance and all its strategy
Leaves me battling with my pride
But through the insecurity
Some tenderness survives
I’m just another writer
Still trapped within my truth
A hesitant prize fighter
Still trapped within my youth
Sometimes when we touch
The honesty’s too much
And I have to close my eyes and hide
I wanna hold you ’til I die
‘Til we both break down and cry
I wanna hold you
‘Til the fear in me subsides
At times I’d like to break you
And drive you to your knees
At times I’d like to break through
And hold you endlessly
At times I understand you
And I know how hard you’ve tried
I’ve watched while love commands you
And I’ve watched love pass you by
At times I think we’re drifters
Still searching for a friend
A brother or a sister
But then the passion flares again
And sometimes when we touch
The honesty’s too much
And I have to close my eyes and hide
I wanna hold you ’til I die
‘Til we both break down and cry
I wanna hold you
‘Til the fear in me subsides

‘Hello’ is taken from the new album, 25, out November 20. http://adele.com Available now from iTunes http://smarturl.it/itunes25 …

Lyrics

Hello, it’s me
I was wondering if after all these years you’d like to meet
To go over everything
They say that time’s supposed to heal ya
But I ain’t done much healing

Hello, can you hear me?
I’m in California dreaming about who we used to be
When we were younger and free
I’ve forgotten how it felt before the world fell at our feetT

here’s such a difference between us
And a million miles

Hello from the other side
I must’ve called a thousand times
To tell you I’m sorry for everything that I’ve done
But when I call, you never seem to be home

Hello from the outside
At least I can say that I’ve tried
To tell you I’m sorry for breaking your heart
But it don’t matter, it clearly doesn’t tear you apart anymore

Hello, how are you?
It’s so typical of me to talk about myself, I’m sorry
I hope that you’re well
Did you ever make it out of that town where nothing ever happened? It’s no secret that the both of us are running out of time

So hello from the other side (Other side)
I must’ve called a thousand times (Thousand times)
To tell you I’m sorry for everything that I’ve done
But when I call, you never seem to be home

Hello from the outside (Outside)
At least I can say that I’ve tried (I’ve tried)
To tell you I’m sorry for breaking your heart
But it don’t matter, it clearly doesn’t tear you apart anymore

Ooh-ooh, anymore
Ooh-ooh-ooh, anymore
Ooh-ooh, anymore
Anymore

Hello from the other side (Other side)
I must’ve called a thousand times (Thousand times)
To tell you I’m sorry for everything that I’ve done
But when I call, you never seem to be home

Hello from the outside (Outside)
At least I can say that I’ve tried (I’ve tried)
To tell you I’m sorry for breaking your heart
But it don’t matter, it clearly doesn’t tear you apart anymore

ENYA – Caribbean Blue

Lyrics

Eurus
Afer Ventus

So the world goes round and round
With all you ever knew
They say the sky high above
Is Caribbean blue?

If every man says all he can
If every man is true
Do I believe the sky above
Is Caribbean blue?

Boreas
Zephyrus

If all you told was turned to gold
If all you dreamed was new
Imagine sky high above
In Caribbean blue

Eurus
