Before she was born, her parents, Maggie Baird and Patrick O’Connell, saw a documentary about conjoined Irish twins, Katie and Eilish Holton, and decided if they ever had a daughter, they wanted to name her Eilish. But when Maggie was pregnant, her father, Bill, passed away, so they named her Billie after him instead. Meanwhile, Finneas, who was four, insisted on calling her “Pirate,” and that stuck, too.
